Not only is our child care center and preschool licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, but our program has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which is the largest and most widely recognized national, voluntary, and professionally sponsored accreditation system for all types of early childhood schools and child care centers. NAEYC is the nation's largest organization of early childhood educators.

Lois Krugman has been the director at Brookhaven Country Preschool since January 1985. Lois has a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Queens College and a M.A. in Special Education from SUNY Stony Brook. Her love of children and her committment to high quality early childhood education is evident in her work with the Suffolk AEYC and as an advisory council member of ECELI (Early Care & Education on Long Island). Lois is an advocate for quality care and developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood programs and Brookhaven's policies and care are a reflection of that committment.
